Canada Child Care Federation
“The Canadian Child Care Federation is a non-profit, charitable organization with a mission of achieving excellence in early learning and child care. We worked with McConnell HR Consulting Inc. to review the Federation's Salary Grid and Performance Evaluation process.
We received the results we had hoped for and MORE. Tim and his team were very professional in identifying the needs of our organization. Tim met all his deadlines and his work is clear and concise. Overall, an excellent job … I would highly recommend McConnell HR Consulting Inc. to any group looking to use these services.”
~ Lynda K. Kerr, Director of Business Operations
Health Canada
The effective use of Informatics is critical to the success of the Health Protection and Food Branch at Health Canada.
OIMT was facing the need to better address client service and business requirements. There was a need to consolidate current Organization and Staffing plans; to effectively track, process and manage all Classification and Staffing actions; and to address skill set deficiencies.
We developed a Human Resources Plan that provided a strategic vision of HR management and outlined the right set of activities and programs to put the HR Plan into action. This defined how they could best align the skills and competencies of limited Informatics resources with the needs of clients to ensure effective Human Resources management.
Canadian Pharmacists Association
The Canadian Pharmacists Association underwent a major restructuring in order to meet operational imperatives following a transition from paper-based products to Digital Publishing. We were called in to facilitate the successful transition to an e-Publishing organization. We:
• Finalized the overall organizational design and defined key operational functions. • Planned the organizational transition from the 'as is' to the 'to be' states. • Determined the best structure of jobs and roles. • Wrote job descriptions for all new positions. • Prepared a "Staffing Map" to determine which employees should occupy which positions in the reorganized organization. • Resolved related HR issues such as change management and employee communications. • Developed an Operational Business Model to confirm the interaction of key functions and business processes
Canadian Commercial Corporation
At the Canadian Commercial Corporation we worked with the Aerospace, Defence and Security Branch through the implementation of a major reorganization. This restructuring created a need for the redeployment of resources and the staffing of over thirty positions.
We provided guidance, direction and services in the areas of HR planning, job profiling, recruitment, interviewing and selection for both internal and external candidates - resulting in the successful implementation of the new organization.
Children’s Aid Society
The Children's Aid Society of Ottawa wished to improve efficiencies in the HR function. Staff time was consumed with duplicate data entry and many paper based manual transactions - limiting the department's ability to serve its clients.
We conducted a review of the HR organization, HR programs and procedures, and HR service delivery. Recommendations were made in the areas of HR organization, strategy and operations. This included increasing transparency and communications, identifying opportunities for greater efficiencies, realigning HR business processes and determining the best mix of HR roles and skills.
